Omi Vaidya terms 12 Years of 3 Idiots. "The film is a curse that I have to cope with," Aamir Khan says of his new flick 3 Idiots.
3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, celebrated its 12th anniversary today. The film, which starred Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi, was a box office smash. From their engineering college days, the film follows these three buddies on their journey. Chatur nicknamed Silencer, performed by Omi Vaidya, is one of the characters who stood out and is also known as the fourth Idiot. One of the film's highlights was his humorous speech. However, the actor who rose to fame as a result of the role believes that it is also a curse in some ways.
"I guess it's just because it was such a large persona," Omi remarked in an interview with Bollywood Hungama about the popularity of his character. It's far bigger than life. It'll sort of follow me around in my flicks. And that will always be a litmus test for all of my films. You'll always want to recall that film when you have screenplays that aren't up to that level.
"Three Idiots is the reason I've achieved so much success." But, in some ways, it's also a curse that I must bear. So I'll absolutely try various things in the future," he added.
Omi Vaidya has appeared in films such as Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, Desi Boyz, Players, Blackmail, and Jodi Breakers since the release of 3 Idiots.
